Capital Investment

We believe that the provision of growth capital is the fourth of the four key requirements for business success. It is not without good reason that we rate this requirement in fourth place as we believe that businesses need customers before they need extra capital injections. That said, we acknowledge that investments are needed to capitalise on growth opportunities that present themselves to the enterprise.

Our approach is to identify the best form of financing and to apply it. This can be through anything from debt financing through to equity investments. Equity investments are based on enterprise valuations that we carry out in close collaboration with entrepreneurs who understand their enterprise dynamics.

In the case of an equity investment, we never invest more capital than 40% of the value of the enterprise as we believe we are there to support, not direct the entrepreneur.

We encourage growth through structured equity deals that result in equity returning to entrepreneurs that succeed in meeting their growth targets, and are open to equity buybacks by the entrepreneur
